What is a Music Video

A Music Video is a promotional tool used by Artists, to promote a new single or album. It is used so the target audience and any other audience can link the lyrics to the video themes. It is often a short film, that portrays a story which fits the lyrics.
They used a variety of shots and editing techniques to make the video as appealing to the audience, this increases there popularity. Some music videos follow the narrative of the lyrics, creating a story to be followed by the audience; whereas other music videos do not interpret images from the song lyrics, making it less literal e.g. a live performance from the artist.
